Why We Built This Site
North Carolina gives the public access to many court records, but the correct office depends on the record type. Davie County court files are handled through the Clerk of Superior Court and statewide NC Judicial Branch tools. Marriage records, birth certificates, death certificates, and recorded land records are handled by the Davie County Register of Deeds. Jail, inmate, and many law-enforcement records begin with the Davie County Sheriff's Office. County department records follow the Davie County public-records request process under Chapter 132.
Davie County's court services are centered in Mocksville at the courthouse on South Main Street, while the Register of Deeds is nearby in the County Administration Building. That close geography can make the offices easy to confuse. This site separates the court path from the county-record path and points readers to the agency most likely to hold the document.
